A two-day manhunt for the man suspected of carrying out this year’s deadliest mass shooting in the United States is over.

At least 18 people were killed after Wednesday’s shooting rampage at a bowling alley and restaurant in Lewiston in Maine.

Police discovered the man’s body in woods close to the neighbouring town of Lisbon.

It followed an extensive ground, air and water search, which concentrated on 40-year-old Robert Card’s family home.
