World News Australia, SBS Radio, October 6, 2014

Australia is one of the many countries expected to benefit from a new trade alliance for countries across the Indian Ocean Rim.

The Indian Ocean Business Alliance aims to strengthen economic ties between Australia and countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Trade between Australia and the region grew more than four-fold between 2000 and 2012 and industries set to benefit from the alliance include mining, oil, tourism and defence.

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry director of trade and international affairs Bryan Clark speaks with Brianna Piazza.
