Girls getaways – a cheap alternative for a bit of fun

carblog3

The other day I was talking with the girls about going on a road trip up the coast for a weekend away when we stumbled across some incredible car hire deals by DriveNow. With deals for as little as $5 a day, I thought I just had to share this information with anybody else that wants to see Australia!

DriveNow offers last-minute specials for a range of hire vehicles such as campervans, HiTop vans and four wheel drives (with camping gear included). Most prices include fuel subsidies and tourists can drive away with their hire vehicles for around two to six days.

The deals are available throughout Australia. Some options include Adelaide to Alice Springs, Alice Springs to Broome, Cairns to Brisbane and Melbourne to Sydney.

It’s a win-win situation for car hire companies as well as travellers. There is demand for hire vehicles during particular months, often due to festivals, sporting events and ideal weather in parts of Australia. To meet that demand, companies must relocate their rental vehicles. Instead of paying drivers to move the vans from one city to another, operators offer next-to-nothing deals for holidaymakers – the only things you need to worry about are travel insurance and your transport home.

Peak times vary but as a general rule of thumb, vehicles often require transferring in the winter months to tropical destinations such as Darwin and Cairns. Meanwhile, southern destinations such as Hobart, Melbourne and Perth are likely to experience more bargains in the summer months.

I hope this information comes in handy for you and your friends!
